Photoshop scripting

Did you know that Photpshop itself is actually programmable? We don't mean the simple macros you can record and replay in the UI. We mean it is possible to control Photoshop from a programming language - allowing for arbitrary logic and interaction with other systems.

For some tasks, this is the power required to make a difference between conceivable but impractical - and doable. It allows for smarter automation than Photoshops' built-in UI tools, and for incorporating Photoshop into larger workflows.
